How Search Works

In almost each and every meeting we attend with potential clients, one of the first questions we hear and address is "What happens when I perform a search?". Google, the worlds leading search provider, has released a brief tutorial that gives a breakdown of what actually happens when you hit that search button.

Contrary to popular belief, search results are an algorithm driven science. Just because your company has been around longer, employs more people, and has a stronger local presence, does not guarantee that you will show at the top of search results. Unless your website properly identifies itself for the terms you wish to show for, then proves its popularity throughout the internet, you will be lost in the mix with hundreds of thousands of other websites.
