Tips and Tricks for Finding an Internet Marketing Company

So you’ve decided to market your practice on the internet. Great! Now the next step you take will be your most important of all. Deciding who you will hire to do that marketing.

As you probably already know, there are a lot of self proclaimed internet marketing “experts” in the market, but what really seperates them? How do you know which company is right for you? Well to start you want to take a look at a few key factors:

The number one thing you need to know before beginning an internet marketing campaign is what exactly the company will be doing for you, step by step. If a company refuses or does not freely offer you this information, for instance not showing the amount of monthly link building in a SEO package, this should immediately raise a red flag. Anyone can give you a price, but without knowing what is being done, how can you asses the value?

It is very important, as will all forms of marketing, that you work with a firm that understands and aligns itself with your direction. If you are looking for a high volume of clients, then you need to find an overly aggressive firm. If you are looking for a high qualityof clients, then you want to find a firm with vast amounts of industry data and experience. You will be amazed how direction can effect the outcome of your campaign.

As a savvy firm owner you definitely understand the difference between price vs. value in  most areas of your business. Internet marketing is no exception. It is not always “he who pays the most gets the most” but a cheap price can also come along with false promises. Something you need to remember is that your competition has been actively working on these services for years, and you will need to do more on a monthly basis to exceed them. By understanding the services offered through step 1, transparency, you will have the ability to compare apples to apples, and apply your limited funds to a company that will give you the highest value.

Now that you have found the best fit for your practice it is time to pull the trigger, right? Wrong. One more important thing you will want to consider before making that final decision is length of contract. It is very important to understand that most types of internet marketing are long term investments, meaning it will take 3-6 months to see results and you will need to continue your efforts as long as you wish to receive those results. Which means jumping into a 1-2 year long contract right off the bat may not be your best bet. By finding a company that is willing to provide a shorter contract, around 3-6 months, you will be given the ability to try them on before making a longer commitment. Now don’t expect a flood of business within that time frame, but do make sure that they deliver on every promises they have made and that you see substantial growth in your campaign before committing to a longer period of time. We all know that the best customer service comes in the beginning of any working relationship, so if any red flags are raised within that time frame and not immediately addressed, you may want to begin your search again.
